Transmission does not shift out of first gear

T/C light turns on as soon as you put it in drive, check engine light stays on and now transmission will not shift out of first gear by itself or manually.

Good morning.

There is a sensor that controls the shifting called the throttle position sensor. If it is not reading correctly it could cause this issue.

Do you know the codes that are set for the light.

Okay, check the codes and if you can have the TPS sensor checked as well.
