My car is not changing gears. Sometimes it changes just 1 and 2 only then sometimes it does not. It also delays accelerating when driving then you stop at traffic lights or to drive away. It takes some seconds then it responds. The reverse gear is functioning properly. I tried topping CVT fluid but still no change. What could be the problem?

Hello,

It sounds like there might be an issue inside the transmission.
Lack of power delivery or delayed shifting usually are associated with a lack of transmission oil or lack of oil pressure.

While topping up the transmission oil did you notice any burned smell?
Is there a noise from the transmission at idle?

Below are two links to CVT transmissions on Nissan vehicles.

How to replace CVT transmission fluid.

I would suggest first replacing the transmission fluid.
Inspect the oil drained for any debris and smell.
Fill up the transmission with new oil.
Approximate quantity is 4L.

Please let us know.

Cheers, Boris

I did not notice any burned smell. I will pay attention to hearing if there is any sound. I will get back to you as soon as I replace the transmission fluid within a week. Thank you for the links. They are very helpful.
