No but it sure helps otherwise you have to get it quite a ways in the air to remove it.

There are several different sizes from 30 mm to 36 it really depends. Measure it across if you can.

When taking out a transmission in a 97 Buick do u have to take off both transaxeul and hub on both sides or just take everything off where the transaxeul is running into the transmission

You don't need to take the hub off just disconnect from cross member and swing out of the way see pics for instructions. Will send in another email

He was asking what size socket is needed to remove the axle spindle nut. There were a few vague posts not answering the question, like this one. The correct answer is 33mm socket for 1993 through 2000 on Buick Park Avenue and LeSabre. I had to go to Auto Zone and buy a 33mm. You can pay for loaner tools and they return your money when you return them. My socket sets skipped from 30mm to 36mm and another had a 32mm.
