So, i am helping a friend pull a transmission. the upper two nuts that hold the transfer case to the transmission absolutely will not move. other ones did. and there is not much leverage up there either. i do have flex head wrenches but the things are on there. Sprayed a lot of PB on them. I wish i could use heat, but I'm scared to with how close to other components they are. Another pain in the butt is this truck is not too high off the ground.

Hi,

I understand your concerns about using heat. Are you able to use an impact gun to see if that would break them loose?

Also, there is a product I've used in the past called Freeze Off. It's manufactured by CRC. I attached a pic below showing what I'm referring to. When you spray it on a specific bolt, it causes the temperature to drop on the item and causes it to contract. It's worked for me under some crazy situations. It may be worth a try.

Let me know.

Joe
