Transfer case swapping

Will a nv 247-J transfer case from a 4.0 work in a 4.7 with a nv 247-J transfer? I have a 04 wj with bad transfer its a 4.0 and only used transfers I have found are for 4.7 but has to be a 247-J transfer case. Any help on this. Thanks

we list two a 242 and a 247 but as long as tag says gear ratio is same I do not see why not. just make sure shaft size is okay to hook up to transmission as that may be different because of a V8, but you can measure that quickly enough.
