Transfer case position sensor removal issue?

I can’t get the sensor out of the transfer case. I took the bolts out and it doesn’t look corded but it won’t come free. Tried heat and some pressure. Should I really pry on it?

Hi,

It sounds like it is corroded in place. Try your best not to break it. I would soak it with a penetrating fluid such as PB blaster and allow it to sit. Gently tap on the side of it a few times and then try gently to turn it left and right. You can use channel locks if needed but first try to simply get it to move. Once it starts, then you can work at slowly getting it out.

Note that if I recall correctly, I was always told to make sure the transfer case is in 2wd.

I attached a pic below showing the sensor I am referring to just to confirm we are talking about the same thing.
