I have a quarter size hole in the top rear of the transfer case. If I were to replace it, will a transfer case from a Ram 1500 like mine but with an automatic transmission work with my manual transmission?

Hi,

I looked up the part numbers to compare. They are different regardless of which transfer case you have. It is likely related to the tail housing on the transmission. They are different.

If you look at the first pic below, it shows the part numbers. Note they are very similar, but one digit off. If you get me the identification number from the transfer case, I will confirm my beliefs, but at this point, I have to say it won't work.

Pic 2 below shows where the identification tag is on the transfer case. Let me know the model number. Pics 3 and 4 are the directions for the removal and installation of the transfer case. I added them in case you need them.

Take care and let me know.

Joe
