Transceiver ignition

The transceiver in my car is not responding to my key. my mechanic said that it cannot be bypassed and the part i need has been discontinued, so what do i do?

Should be able to find one that works in a salvage yard if it is the actual PATS II transceiver. They do not fail that often. Have you tested a second key just in the event the transponder in the key is bad?

He reprogram the keys, but he said that the transceiver was not responding.

That could mean the antenna loop wires that pick up the signal from the key are bad/broken. That is far more common than the transceiver.
