My car was hit on the passenger door while parked. It was in park, parking brake not on. The impact moved the front of the car eighteen to twenty four inches over, turning the wheels and locking the steering wheel. Now I am having serious problems with the transmission. It worked fine before the wreck but the insurance company says it is not related. It is an all wheel drive vehicle, could this wreck have caused my trans-axle to fail?

We need specific symptoms and observations. What did the people at the body shop say about the problem?

Understood. I have not taken it to the body shop I'd like this resolved before I settle with the insurance. I have to rev the engine to 2700 to 3000 rpm before it engages and that is with a loud 'clunk' and jackrabbit start. It never really fully engages the trans. Properly. It does it in 1st & reverse & is slightly better in AWD, but it's still undriveable. Like driving with someone who doesn't know how to use a clutch for a manual transmission, but more exagerated.
