I have this amazing little truck I drive for work. Anyway, the other day I got in it to go to work it started up fine runs fine. Put it reverse. And it made an awful sound when I started to back up, now it won't go in reverse. I have two questions. Could this be an issue with the 4-wheel transfer case? What different transmissions can I put in to replace this one if I can't find an exact match.

This problem could be the transmission, transfer case or the rear differential. I would raise the rear of the truck with the transmission in neutral to see if you can turn the driveshaft. This should help us find the source of the problem:

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
