Traction control?

My car acts weird on wet roads after stopping at a stop sign or traffic light. I heard if might have to do with the traction control. What is wrong with my car?

Hi,

What does the vehicle do? As far as the traction control is concerned, if there is a fault, the ABS and TC lights should be on.

On the other hand, if you recently had it aligned, a zero-point calibration needs to be done which can cause it to react oddly.

Let me know. Also, let me know if any dash lights are on indicating a problem.

Take care,

joe

I had no work done on it recently. It slightly stutters, so to speak. I feel like I might lose control of the car- all in a matter of seconds.

Hi,

Where is the stutter most noticeable? For example, do you feel it more in the steering or the body of the vehicle (seat)?

That sounds like you may have a warped brake rotor. If one is warped, you will feel a vibration in the steering wheel when you apply the brakes.

Have you had them replaced recently?

I feel the stuttering after pushing the gas pedal- not the brake pedal, at a stop sign or traffic light.

Hi,

In that case, it sounds like the engine may have a misfire. Is the check engine light staying on or flashing at any time? Based on our conversation so far, I don't feel it is ABS-related. To me, it sounds like you may have a misfire. Has the vehicle been tuned up recently?

Let me know.

It hasn't been tuned up. It drives fine thankfully on sunny and cloudy days. In rainy weather is when the issue arises. The check engine light does not flash or stay on.

Hi,

It's hard to diagnose it from here. However, it is due for a tune up and the ignition system can be adversely affected by moisture. That is where I would start.

Let me know your thoughts.
