While driving traction control light came on, stutters over forty mph

Traction control lights came on. No reason for it to just come on. The car will not go over forty without stuttering.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

It sounds like the traction control system is limiting engine power to prevent slipping or a spinning wheel, even though that is not happening. This could be the result of a bad wheel speed sensor.

What you need to do is have the computer scanned to determine what diagnostic trouble codes are stored in the computer. Once you get the code, let me know what it is. That will point us in the right direction for repair.

I realize most people do not own a scanner. If that is the case, most parts stores will do it for free.
