My vehicle is consistently giving me the following codes even after clearing them, but I do not have any dash lights on related to tire pressure. So far, I have just cleared the codes and then driven the vehicle, after about 10 miles the TPM Codes come back.

TPM - Tire Pressure Monitor
C1580-00 Active Left/Right side tire pressure sensor location undetermined
C1581-00 Active Front/Rear Tire pressure sensor location undetermined
C151D-00 Active Tire pressure sensor location undetermined
C1501-96 Active Tire Pressure Sensor 1 - Component Internal Failure

Hi,

Did this happen all at once? The module isn't able to determine the location if a fault. This could be a bad sensor or the TPMS module may have failed.

Do you have access to a TPMS tool that can read each sensor, one at a time? If you do, check for a signal at each wheel and the battery condition. If you find one that indicates a battery issue or isn't transmitting a signal, replace it. If they are all good and are sending a signal, the module is the most likely issue.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, all of the codes show up at the same time now, but I am not certain how long these codes have been active. I was actually trying to diagnose a different problem, and they are the only codes that are consistently showing up on my scan tool after erasing all of the codes.

I don't currently have access to a TPMS tool, do you have any recommendations for one that should work for my jeep?

Hi,

There are a lot of different ones. I attached a pic of one below that would do what you need. They aren't cheap. For this model, this was the lowest price I could find. See if you can find a less expensive one that does the same things.

I hope this helps.

Joe

Thank you for the recommendation. Is this a tool I should be using every time I rotate my tires as well?

Hi,

You are very welcome. As far as rotations are concerned, Chrysler products automatically relearn tire positions, so you shouldn't need to reset anything. Have you had issues in the past when rotating the tires?

Let me know.

No issues so far, but this is the first vehicle I have owned with tire sensors, so I'm just trying to get it figured out.

Hi,

Actually, Chrysler is one of the few that don't require a relearn. After getting new tires or rotating, the TPMS light may be on for a short while, but once you drive a short distance, it will go off.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

I finally was able to get the tool you recommended and checked the tires. Four of the five tires read just fine, and the batteries are in good condition. The fifth tire (Drivers Rear) would not read after multiple attempts. Is that one sensor the root of all the codes?

Hi,

That would be my first suspect. The codes include a rear tire, so I would recommend replacing that sensor and seeing if the problem is resolved. I have a feeling it will be.

Let me know how things turn out for you.

Take care,
