Hi :

1992 Tercel w/136,000 miles, auto. Noticed front end grinding noise on left side, sounded like I needed a new cv joint. Had Mass state inspection done and was told my axle was shot. Are cv joint and axle considered one and the same? I know they are connected. Also want to get a ballpark cost to repair, that will affect decision to get another vehicle.

Thanks,

brian

The left half shaft is a one piece assy. and it runs roughly to about $350.00 and about an hr to fix-shop around for the lowest cost of repair.
