What makes a manual shift 95 tercel slip out of third gear? I had the clutch replaced last year. Someone said it could be the flywheel or do I need the transmission replace?

Hi mchamberlin,

If it is slipping only out of 3rd gear, it is nothing to do with the clutch.

The trans is bad due to worn synchroniser rings, hub and/or sleeve. Might be due to loose holding nut of the output shaft bearing or a bad clutch sgaft bearing. You need to strip the trans to check out.
