I recently tested my car for why the engine light is on and it said something to do with a knock. i cant remember the name it refered to but it had knock in it. Do you know what its called?

Knock sensor, when engine detects pre-ignition knock sensor will retard engine timing to stop pinging.

If ECM is not getting any input from knock sensor, ECM will set error code.

Most likely changing the sensor will fix problem.
