1994 Toyota Tercel strange noise from engine

yesterday while i was going on freeway suddenly there was a huge sound coming from the engine.I had to take exit when i tried to put the gear in parking mode there was a huge thud sound then i checked that the brake oil was empty so i went to near by shop and emptied two bottles of oil in the tank then i thought i will put transmission oil also.still there was huge noise though i could travel back home but the sound is on.today i took to the mechanic who told that the engine need to replace and rod no good.I want to use this car two more months as iam moving out of country.Can anyone suggest me coz that mechanic told it costs $1500 for replacing engine.

Hi radhi,

If any rod is bad, the engine could seize anytime, you have no other choice, either don't use the car or repair it.
