1994 Toyota Tercel spark plug wires

1994 Toyota Tercel 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I was changing the spark plugs and wires for my girlfriend's 1994 Tercel and was wondering if it mattered which wire went from each spark plug to each plug on the distributor or is it arbitrary since they all fire the same way? If it does in fact matter which plug goes with which wire, could you please advise as to which one connects where? Thank you.
