I'm wondering if anyone knows approximately how long I will be able to keep my car running. I just did a compression test and these were the results: #1-100lbs, #2- 90lbs, #3- 45lbs, #4- 50lbs. I basically need a new engine. I drive about 250 miles a week. Any guesses on how much longer I'm going to be able to keep that up?

Hi there,

It sounds as if it is about to lay down and die, this tired old engine may keep on running for some time yet, if its not knocky or over over heating you may be able to nurse It a while longer, but i would be doing something about a replacement engine sooner rather than later.
