1989 Toyota Tercel 4 cyl Manual 120,5 miles

I recently fixed the Valve cover on the motor, and changed the oil, i drove it about 30 miles and it ran better than ever. The next day i started it, reversed, the car idled out, and has no been able to start since. I had a friend check the distributer cap, and i am getting spark, the car is also getting fuel, and we sprayed carb cleaner in it. I have a warn out hole in my cam, but if that was the problem it wouldn't have worked before. Any advice or options of what could be the problem with the car?

Remove the distributor cap, have helper crank engine over is the rotor turning-if not check the timing belt/chain
