Tires and Wheels problem
1989 Toyota Tercel 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

l just had 2 tires put on the front of my Toyota. When doing that the technician noticed the C V Joint on my passenger side was bad cuz the boot was ripped. Ls that an expensive repair? Thank you, Bill O'Connor

Hi Bill O'Connor,

The shaft assy would be rather pricey, from $ 350 to $500 + depending on type. However you should be able to get the outer joint from your local part stores and it should cost you very much less.

If only the rubber boot is replaced, it should be very much cheaper. I do not have the price list and you can enquire at your local parts store.

Labor for replacement of the boot or joint is 2.2 hours.
