Hi,

I can start my truck cold just fine, everything works perfectly. Drive it around, give it time to warm up, go drive it more. Everything works fine. But when i stop the engine, and turn it off for about 5 mins, then restart it. It has a misfire to it. The engine code says it was a cyl. 4 misfire.

Thanks, Dan

A misfire in a specific cylinder should lead you to check the spark plug, fuel injector and compression.

An engine misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
