when i turn the ignition sometimes you hear the contacts click but it wont start.it sat in the shop for two days but it wouldnt do it while it was there. once i started the engine but the starter hung up and kept running ,even though the engine was running. now it takes 5 or six tries for the engine to start. do you think its a contact in the starting circuit, solenoid, or bad starter? help!!!!

I'd have to make sure the battery has a full charge and all battery connections, coming and going are clean and tight on all ends. Next I'd check circuits at the starter relay, when the problem is ongoing. Terminal 1 is voltage to coil side of relay, goes hot with key in the crank position. Tewrminal 2 is ground for the coil side of relay, grounds throufg the clutch switch. Terminal 5 is hot all the time. Any testing at relay make sure tranny is in neutral and the e-brake is set. Some of the hational brand autostores will test the starter for you if you want to take it off and take it to them.
