what could be the cause of black smoke from the exhaust and poor fuel miliage? had a recent tune up and still the same???

black smoke is an indication of burning too much fuel, sometimes it can be because of several faulty injectors, or the engine coolant temp sensor is faulty, and or a bad fuel pressure regulator
