1996 Toyota Tacoma headlights

MY headlights will go compleatly out for a few min. while driving. and then come back on again. The instrument lights stay on but my headlights goes off and it is not in a consistant rethrum. my stay off 10 seconds or one min. usally will go off and back on before I can get pulled of the road. My not happen again for the entire 120 mile trip. could this be the relay ? I cleaned the cables and the terminal at the fuse box.. any ideas?

Have you tried checking wirings? I think your headlights is not receiving enough power to remain on. Have a mechanic check battery.
