Ok im looking at buying a turbo 1989 supra. And the guy sais he replaced the stock turbo with a used replacement turbo. And he said he didn't have the gasget for the one spot on the turbo so he just used rtv silicone for a gasket. And the car SMOKES LIKE CRAZY! So i am asking what the problem is before i buy it. So can you tell me why this is happening???=(

hi hondas2000,

The turbo is a HOT item so how can silicone be used insted of a gasket?

If it smokes like what you described, most probably the turbo unit is scrap material.
