I have an 86 supra and it starts sometimes on occasion and sometimes it wont start at all. The starter sounds really strong and their is 12vs of power, but wont turn over I don't know if its the fuel pump, or the fuel injectors, I have checked fuses they look fine. I have looked at the distributor cap and battery their hooked up.I am clueless please tell me what you think it is.

Hi darkcloud87,

You mean it can crank but won't fire up?

When it does not start, you need to check if there is sparks at the plugs and if fuel pressure is present at the fuel rails.

Yes it does crank up strong, but not always will it actually fire up.

How do I check the fuel pressure and spark, do I need a ECU reader? Idk its weird I started it up earlier today and drove it around and then shut it off and then tried starting it again and it started. Then I gave it a couple of hours and tried starting it again and then it wont fire up.I have done this process many times and it the same exact scenario. When I bought it mechanics replaced fuel injectors and gas tank, and it ran good for a year. How much do you think it would be for a pro mechanic to look at it and fix it? Please email me back
