Engine Cooling problem
1984 Toyota Supra 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi. Could somebody offer me an opinion about a 1984 2.8i Auto' Toyota Supra.
The car starts fine, idles nicely, and runs quiet weel for a 25 year old car.
The car only overheats occasionally, that is when just coasting along or running down hills all is fine.
The problem occurs when stop/start driving in traffic and/or when climbing up hills!!!
Could the clutch fan be faulty? When the engine is warm/hot you can turn the fan very easily with little/no resistance!?
My first thoughts were to get a new thermostat and possibly fit a Electric/Thermo fan.
Any information/ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Regards- Mick.
