A few years ago we bought 4 new GoodYear Triple Tread P225 50R/16 tires for my Solara. The tires have an 80k mile warranty, and since then I have put almost 30k miles on them.
They have been rotated 3 times since the purchase and each time I mentioned that the car seemed to pull to the left.
This time, we took it in because the tread on the edges is showing visible signs of wear. After the rotation and alignment (that we paid for), the car was still pulling left so we immediately took it back to the retailer within 5 minutes.
Now, they are saying that they may replace at least 2 of the tires because the edge tread wear is contributing to the alignment problem and the left pull of the car.
If the problem has been persisting regardless of the front to back rotation of these Directional Tread tires, shouldn't they replace all 4 of the tires? By just replacing 2 of the tires, doesn't that mean that I will still have uneven edge tread wear on the other two tires, especially after they get rotated to the front again in another 10k miles?
