RAV4 Towing upgrades

Hello. I recently bought a 2006 RAV4 V6 which does not have the tow prep package (upgraded 150A alternator, upgraded fan, upgraded fan coupling, external transmission cooler, prewire trailer harness). I have found out that this option isn't yet available in this region. As this vehicle was remodeled for 2006, I'm guessing not many options are yet available aftermarket. However, does anyone know if there are any aftermarket parts that would work to build my own tow package, or of any good aftermarket retailers who might be able to help. Thank you for any help.

I thought I answered this one? The Toyota shops can do a proper install. The stuff is all bolt on. I had the same probblem with my 06 Tacoma which came without fog lights.

Find a Rav4 with the towing package and compare it to yours. That will insure you have the correct items. Good luck

The dealer says they cannot do it. The dealer doesn't have the upgraded parts and the factory in Japan (where RAV4s are built) will not ship them because they don't want dealers adding the tow prep package. I have contacted Toyota Corporate and they agreed with the dealer. They said dealers have very little pull with Toyota's built in Japan and shipped over seas. Toyota corporate said they would check into it further though.
