The car is slow to accelerate from a complete stop and begins to rev (RPMs go above normal) when given more gas before jerking into second gear. I took it to the shop and the mechanic said that they tried to replicate the problem a few times (after letting the engine cool, etc) and were unable to do so. If I reduce the amount of gas when trying to get going after a complete stop, the problem doesn't occur. I know there is definitely something wrong with the car, but am not sure what to suggest a mechanic should look at if they can't replicate the problem.
