2008 Toyota Prius smell from vent

Sometimes when the air conditioning is first turned on,
the smell of vinegar comes through the vents. What is the cause of this?

Hi there,

have the A/C drain tube check fore a blockage, and get the A/C vents desanitized and deodorised with an A/C vent cleaner, this will more that likely be mould and mildew build up due to trapped moisture in the system.
