Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1993 Toyota Previa Four Wheel Drive Manual

Hi I have conflicting advice on the purchase of a CV joint for theabove vehivcle, in as much some say I need to buy the axle as its not possile to just replace the CV could you please advise as to the path I should take.

While you can replace the CV joint, it would probably cost a lot more than either a new or reman'd complete assy, and the joint may be damaged beyond repair.

A reman'd CV axle will run $50-60 (exchange) and a new one can run $75-100. So it is far easier/cheaper to replace the entire axle.

I have bought a replacment cv axle but after taking the old one off and attempting to put on the new one its too long, I compressed them both and the new one is about 3inches too long I got back to the dealer he said there is only one, is there anything I am not doing correctly

Did you get the right side (left/right), unless the axles are equal length there would be a left and right.
