Transmission problem
1992 Toyota Previa 230K miles

Owner's Manual and Chilton's say Dexron II or III. When I asked a friend to get a qt for me, I received Dexron/Mercon. The person at the parts store claims it is comparable.
When I checked online parts stores Merc/Dex or Toyota ATF was recommended, not Dex/Merc.
My mechanic friend(?) didn't return my call, so I am asking you. Can I use the Dex/Merc?
I do not want to use the wrong fluid.
