Parking brake light will not shut off

Toyota Tacoma 2003 v6 40,000 mile. The parking brake light will not shut off. I manually push the switch in and it does not go off and I disconect the switch and it still stays on. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanx

try filling the brake master cylinder. I had the same problem and this fixed it

When you feel it and light still there-test the sensor.

. The parking brake light will not shut off. Is this also with ignition switch off.

Thank you for your reply. The master cylinder was low on fluid. I never would have thought to look there. Is there any way to adjust the emergency brake handle so it has more tension on the switch it does have alot of play in it. Once again thanks

You need to find the equalizer and tighten it up to remove the slack then adjust the brake handle.
