I recently bought a 89 toyota truck with the V6 engine. It has a "ticking" sound that sounds to me like valve lifter noise but someone suggested it may be the injectors. Is noisy lifters common with this engine and if so what is the best cure for it? Is it a issue that can cause problems or is it more of a bother?

Thanks Vic

Try an engine flush-don't work could be a leakdown problem with the lifters or needs a valve adjustment.
