Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Toyota Pickup 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 102K miles

Truck will not start... when starting, engine turns over and does not want to 'catch' and run. Belts are all fine, including timing belt. Pressure is okay putting hand over oil fill cap. Although we do smell gas that is not being burned. Is this due to the spark plugs? We pulled spark plug cable off and first time it shot some sparks out, second time it did not. Car is due for 100K tune-up... gas filter change etc. Any thoughts?
