2001 Toyota Pickup breaks up when accelerating

Problem is when pressing down to accelerate engine will beak up studder check engine light came on so had it checked and code was for cylinder #3 misfire. had wires and plugs replaced but it did not help. Friend said switch coil to #5 reset computer and wait for check eng light to see if code now reads 5, but now light has not come on and problem still happening. PLEASE HELP, Thank you

Hi bulshit,

When misfiring occurs, it could be due to various reasons.

1. Spark plug, wires and coils.
2. EGR system.
3. Fuel injectors and pressure.

If no CEL is present, I would suggest testing the EGR system as you have replaced the plugs and cables.
