Noises problem
1994 Toyota Pickup 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My speedometer works fine, no jumping around, seems pretty accurate on speed.

I starts howling about 45mph and gets worse as speed increases. Toyota parts guy says it doesn't have a cable so do I need a whole new thing or can it just be lubricated?

Thanks

Why would the parts dept at the Toyota dealer tell me it has no cable, just has a sensor?

It is a 1994 Toyota pickup. 2WD, manual trans, 4 cyl. 22RE.
