I am putting this truck back together from a basket case so to speak. Bad timing chain ate up the timing cover. Previous owner took it apart and piled pieces up in the cab. I went with new engine overhaul kit, new oil pump, new timing cover, etc. Engine assembly went well.
?1. there is a white wire with black stripe coming from the wiring harness at the alternator. It has a rather large eyelet. Where does this go?
?2. I had the engine spinning over quite well, attached the coil lead and it fired. Adjusted the distributor and it fired better, ran for a few seconds then quit. Now, I have nothing. No power going anywhere, no lights at the dash, etc. So far, all fuses seem to be good. Any ideas on what to check next?
Great site, thank you. contributions will be coming!
