1993 Toyota Pickup Master Cylinder adjustment

I replaced the clutch master cylinder in my truck. I tried to adjust the "U" shape yoke to the same length as the old unit that I removed. I need to know how much free play I should have on the pedal before I feel resistance. Thank you in advance.
