Compression in cylinder 1 is 130, the other cylinders read 150+. Mechanic suspects a cracked ring.
How can this be fixed and what would be the cost?

Hi there,

If this is a ring problem the engine will have to be dismantled to do it, as for cost, this will depend on how far you take the job, with the engine stripped you should be doing bearings as well, and with broken rings you may have a scored bore that will need attention as well, so i would be doing a wet comp test first to prove that this is a ring problem to start with.
