Engine Cooling problem
1992 Toyota Pickup 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

hello! I'm have a timing problem. At idle it's 5 degrees BTDC, you touch the gas it goes 40 degrees of advance. At a stop sign it cools down, on the freeway it heats up. I have a new distributor and checked the throttle position sensor. According to the book it's good. Also the mass air sensor checks out good. I also put a new thermostat, water pump radiator cap, and eletric fan on. Any ideas? Thank you and have a nice day!

Have you checked the fan clutch? Has the temp been checked to see what it is at the upper hose verses the lower hose at operating temp?
