1987 Toyota Pickup Don't know whats wrong with my brakes?

I have a 1987 Toyota truck, it was giveing to me from my Dad it was sitting for about 2 years not running then I got it running, the first thing was my cluch slave cyl. Went out, so it got fix, now my brakes went out, not all the way the brake peddal goes all the way down and the very end then it stops ! I had a friend look at them, he jacked up the truck bleed then their was no air in the lines, well and now I still have very little no brakes at all. Well you know how every body is a car person? Some one said that it could be my master cyld. Some one said it could be my brakes pads? What's a girl to do? I need help what do I do ! Can you please help me. Thank you Lynda
