my 85 turbo toyota truck has never had any transmission problems. one day i had to beat the starter to git it started and then the transmission will not shift out of first gear. it moves fine while in reverse and drive but it will not shift. this truck has the electronic controlled tranny.

Hi there,

You should have the pressures tested, it may be a sticky shift valve, see if your ECU holds transmission fault codes. That may give you a clue as well
