when i start my car it will only start in neutral but then it will not go into first so i have to rev up my engine turn it off put it in first and start again . then when i am in first if i come to a stop it dies on me . then i noticed that when i am in third or fourth gear and i come to a stop it will not go back to first i have to turn the car off and start all over again

You might need to remove the transmission and inspect the clutch. You may need to replace the clutch if it will not disengage. I have had many Toyota trucks and they are quite easy to repair and are very robust vehicles. Consider replacement if the disc is too thin or if the pressure plate is warped or broken.
