Too much motor oil!!

I put in too much motor oil the other day, and now i have blue smoke coming out of my exhaust. do i have to drain the oil to fix it, or has something gone horribly wrong? at idle the car doesnt smoke 'alot'. but when i kickdown in 2nd it just pours out smoke

Drain it out and make sure its on the full level.
