One Brake light burning out

I have one brake light which is burning out, replaced bulb twice, when the brake pedal is pushed, the brake light comes on and then burns out leaving the bulb with a milky appearance. Ideas?

The vehicle is a 1991 Toyota Long Bed PU 4X4

The vehicle is a 1991 Toyota long bed PU 4x4; The bulbs were bought at Walmart (GE brand)
