Shakes or Wobbles problem
2005 Other Toyota Models 4 cyl Automatic 41000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My wife owns a 2005 Toyota Prius. In recent months it has developed a vibration in the car when you reach highway speeds which in Arizona are 75. It becomes noticeable at around 65 and feels like the car might shake apart at 70 mph. I've had the tires rotated and balanced and it seemed to help some but the past couple of days it has gotten worse again. Could it be alignment or something else?

Hi robolyn,

When vibrations occurs at high speed, it should be one of the moving parts out of balance.

1. Wheels, tires unbalanced or rims dented.
2. Driveshafts, most probably inner joints worn.
3. Loose steering linkages.
4. Torque converter.
