I have a 2004 Scion xA. The cigarette lighter works, but the lighter socket won't charge my cell phone. When I plug the phone into the charging cord, the pilot light in the cord goes out. Is this a defect, or is it supposed to work this way? Regards, Frank

Hi there, thank you for the donation.

Do you use the lighter to light smokes? if so it may be caked in ash and muck and not making a good connection, if the lighter is clean, then i would suspect a faulty charger, maybe try the charger in another car to See if it work there.
